What I Learned from the Multimedia Modules and the Fieldwork?

From the resource speaker Mr. Jimmy Dominggo.I learn that the entire process of photography involves finding the object to be photographed,taking the photograph,processing the image and presenting the image.In taking the picture,it should be with action plus the interaction of the person in the subject.Click is the key word on how to take a picture.For its frame ,it may be in horizontal or vertical form with varied shapes inside the picture.We see the rectangle,semi circle, triangle square or straight line on it. Reflection is also an element of a picture,so water,mirror and glasses can also add quality picture.

 

I learn some tips on taking pictures.Such as : shoot from a variety of angles,Avoid the 5’2 syndrome,be a worm or a bird when taking a picture , experiment and explore.Decisive moment of the subject is essential in taking pictures and the key to it,is capture the object with swiftness to catch its action,or patience to wait the action of the object.I also learn that photography is a photo plus the textor caption.Gathering data and informations are needed in striking images in a portrait.The photojournalists ‘ objectives are to inform, to report,and to carry the scene to the readers.

 

From the lecture I learn that the subjects and themes of photojournalism involves happiness,relief,frustrations,surprise,simple joys, excitement,human capacity,fear and death.The categories,it may be in spot,in general,feature,sports portraits and documentary photographs.Spot news are those unscheduled events no advance planning.The general news are scheduled events such as parade, concert, press conference rallies ,anniversaries and school opening and closing.Features are the interesting slices of life.Portrait includes close up pictures to show visual character of the subject.Documentary photograaaphs are usually serious on socially relevant issues affecting the society.

 

Characters of a good photo.It should be accurate, not stating the obvious,main people are identified,no judgment,no assumption,no using terms like,is shown,ispictured, and looks on.Use present tense, no hurous statements for serious pictures,larger caption, if necessary,using of commas to set off direction and using of conversational language.

 

Insights in Coverting our Work Into an Electronic Form

Creating online school paper is one of the programs designed by the campblog for this year 2011.And it is really very practical to convert our work in printed school paper into electronic form.Computers in 1990s and early 2000 were rare and difficult to acquire in the public high schools. During that time,campus journalists wished to own a single unit as an access to information technology.

And now it will be realized.It is not only a unit of computer, but it is a package of numbers of computers and seminar workshop of teachers and students. And we are very privilege to benefit this program from the Commission on Information and Communication Technology CICT. With this program school paper jobs become easier and lightier through the use of internet.It enhances speedy communication and it achieves timeliness and freshness of information

In electronic form ,we can glance the old and the new publication in the website.So young writers can link their ideas in recent situation to the past.They can interact what happen in the past that can still be used at present.Further, online school paper make the world of the students closer to each other.

what I learned from the self study modules?

As I open the internet and read the module on online writing I learned s ome additional tips on how to write effectively.First of all know and clarify the purpose why we write and what to write, Sort ideas to your topic to suit the kind of people who read the article.Write articles because you are knowledgeable about it ,and want to link your ideas to others.Write simply and direct to the point.Avoid using unnecessary words,and think of the most appropriate terms to achieve clarity.Observe correct grammar, and appropriate punctuation,and also the spelling.If possible use simple sentences rather than complex sentences.Above all be a wide reader.

 

For the online research, and blogging module, I don’t have an opportunity to study because the internet did not serve me that particular lesson in the screen.However, I am positive that I can learn those module later.

I learn the difference between traditional newspaper and website newspaper.The websites are not linear or do not work in straight lines unlike books. It has beginning, but you don’t know where to end unlike traditional newspaper or book that is a finite object. It has a display on both old and new informations because the past and present events are interacting each other .The old information s serve as reference to the new ones.They are very useful to the readers especially to the young generation. The readers may know how events progressed and developed. The young ones may know how people in the past struggle for improvement of lives .As the present would not exist without the past. So, it is proper to publish the old and the new information.

 

I also learn what internet is?The worldwide web?It is a communication channel.It started in 1990s. It was set up for the purpose of sharing,linking towards people, for education and for learning many things.It is the widening of information and knowledge.Interacting the worldwide affair in amusement, politics, economics etc.I also learn that WWW means worldwide web (if I’m not mistaken} because honestly I don’t have any idea before, what is WWW in the internet.

 

Online newspaper is interactive. Good relationship is its core. The sharing and linking made online publication different from other printed papers. It responds to the demand of the readers, so it must be concise and straight to the point.

 

During critiquing I learned some specific principles on journalistic writing. One of those are : we should limit our ambition in writing, such displaying our knowledge in writing. As Sir Jo said, “Humility” is the secret of good writing.We should be honest in writing . What we know is what we write only.
